Jennie Connor and her team concluded that alcohol use causes cancers of the mouth, larynx, breast, colon, liver, esophagus and intestines, based on studies conducted by the World Cancer Research Fund, the International Agency for Cancer Research, the World Health Organization and other organizations in the last 10 years.
Connor noted that the number of people who lost their lives from cancer types caused by alcohol use was approximately 500 thousand in 2012 alone. Connor stated that even a small amount of alcohol consumption has been found to cause cancer.
