Deshaun Watson’s no-trade clause gives him some leverage on potential trade destinations after he requested to be dealt from the Texans. And there’s some new insight on what might intrigue the 25-year-old Pro Bowler.
Broncos defensive back Kareem Jackson, a former teammate of Watson’s, says the quarterback has eyes on Denver as he looks to move on from Houston.
“I had a couple of conversations with him,” Jackson, who spent the 2017 and ’18 seasons with Watson on the Texans, told TMZ. “Just with him saying that Denver is a place that’s he’s interested in landing.”
Watson appears to be steadfast in his desire for a trade, with NBC’s Chris Simms reporting this week there’s “no way” Watson will play for Houston again. New Texans general manager Nick Caserio said last week he has “no interest” in trading Watson.

The Broncos took Drew Lock in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but he has yet to impress. The 24-year-old had 2,933 yards, 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions across 13 games during the 2020 season.
The Jets and Dolphins are considered among the best potential fits for a Watson trade.
