Hoda Kotb has crossed off a major item on her wedding-planning checklist: Her wedding song.
The morning show host revealed on the “Today” show on Wednesday that she and fiancé Joel Schiffman will dance to Van Morrison’s “Someone Like You.”
“That is such a beautiful, beautiful song,” she said, adding that the couple may hire a DJ to play it instead of a live band. “I think that’ll be our wedding song.”
Kotb, 56, and Schiffman, 62, got engaged in Nov. 2019, and were scheduled to wed in Nov. 2020 — before the coronavirus pandemic.
Kotb spoke with her co-host Jenna Bush Hager about having to postpone it, saying, “We can’t fly anywhere, what are we supposed do? It was supposed to be last November. Maybe this November coming up, that’s it. Put it on the calendar.”
Kotb and Schiffman, who works in finance, have been dating since 2013. They are parents to adopted daughters Haley Joy, 3, and Hope Catherine, 1, and have plans to adopt a third child soon.
