Japanese fashion designer Takeshi Osumi has died. He was 47.

One of the two creatives behind streetwear brand Mistergentleman, Osumi suffered sepsis on Jan. 24.

“It is with great sadness that we come to you with this news. We also thank you deeply for your kindness throughout the years,” a representative wrote on the brand’s Instagram Tuesday night.

“As for future plans, we will be presenting the MISTERGENTLEMAN FALL WINTER 2021-22 Collection, which Osumi was working on in the hospital until just before his death, at the Tokyo Fashion Week in March, in memory of his death,” the message continued.

Osumi, who went by the nickname “Big-O,” was responsible for various labels, including Swagger and Phenomenon as well as Mistergentleman, the latter of which he founded with Yuichi Yoshii in 2012.
